At Chessington Veterinary Surgery, we aim to give your pet the best care.

Charity Work

One of our aims at DNA Vetcare is to help improve the welfare of all animals and reduce unnecessary suffering of animal within our care, local communities and the wider world. We have enormous respect and admiration for the volunteers that give up their time to help charities to protect animals that are sadly neglected, mistreated or abandoned. We have pledged our support to help as much as we can, building close relationships with several charities – providing heavily discounted services and medicines, and several fundraising activities.

Working alongside these charities we have helped to care for many sick and injured animals around the world, giving them an opportunity to find a home with a loving family.

“Thank you so much to the awesome clients of DNA Vetcare for your inspirational support! Your kindness and generosity is massively appreciated and is making a huge difference to animals in need in Thailand through these difficult times. You’re ensuring that animals who otherwise would have no-one receive the care and treatment they deserve. Thank you.” Dr Luke Gamble, CEO & Founder, WVS.

World Veterinary Services – Care For Dogs

The World Veterinary Services (WVS) provides free expert care to animals in need all over the world. They do this by sending vets where they are needed most, training local teams to raise global standards of care, and shipping urgent aid supplies every single week of the year.

In Chiang Mai, Thailand, WVS runs the only treatment centre and shelter for the many street dogs in the region. The charity is currently building a new Intensive Care Unit, which will allow them to provide life-saving treatment to three times as many critically sick and injured dogs.

Our Fundraising for WVS – Care For Dogs

The WVS Care for Dogs Foundation in Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand, is one of the main charities supported by DNA Vetcare. Their incredible work includes saving homeless and neglected dogs, rescuing puppies, and helping to prevent the dog meat trade.

To support their efforts,
we are donating 50p from every consultation directly to WVS – Care for Dogs.

Over the years, Dane, our Head Vet, has also taken part in fundraising events such as a charity swimathon, raising several thousand pounds to fund vital supplies like food, medicine, and equipment – all of which have directly helped Thailand’s street dogs.

The money we raise helps Care for Dogs continue their vital work:

  • Treating animals in the clinic
  • Caring for animals in the shelter and on the streets
  • Rescuing animals in need
  • Operating outreach camps

Their dedicated teams also travel to remote communities with little or no access to veterinary care. Here, often in challenging conditions, they run temporary clinics to treat life-threatening injuries, administer vaccinations, provide neutering surgeries to reduce overpopulation, and educate owners on basic pet care.

A Milestone Visit

Recently, we had the incredible honour of visiting Worldwide Veterinary Service (WVS)—a long-time charity partner of ours. This visit was a milestone in many ways: we were invited to officially open their brand-new hospital, a vital hub that will provide life-saving care to animals in under-resourced regions of Thailand.

In a truly touching moment, a ward within the hospital was named after our Clinical Director,
Dane Walker, in recognition of his tireless efforts and longstanding support for WVS.

For over a decade, our clients have stood alongside us in fundraising for WVS. Every pound raised has gone towards helping animals in desperate need, and we are incredibly proud of the collective impact we’ve achieved together.

Being an independent practice gives us the flexibility to choose the most appropriate medication and treatment for your pet. We are not dictated to by a remote head office regulating what treatments can be used to maximise their profits.
